Social Events 2012 – 2013 CARA holds four social events a year which are open to all members, and non-members are invited to come along and join CARA at the same time.  Apart from the CARA Summer Barbecue or Big Lunch, all other events are held on a Thursday evening, in the hope that the largest number of people will be free to attend. New Year’s Party & Quiz Night Each January CARA holds its New Year’s Mince Pie Party and Quiz Night. AGM The AGM is generally held in May of each year when the President outlines the work of the Executive Committee for the forthcoming year. Items which affect the membership are put to the vote and new members of the Executive Committee are elected. In 2012 the AGM was held on Thursday, 26 April 2012, in the Lady Chapel, St Martin's Church, Hale Gardens.  Following the AGM, Jonathan Kirby, Ealing’s Assistant Director of Major Projects & Development, and Richard Gill, Hounslow’s Regeneration Manager, gave CARA’s 3rd Community Lecture on plans for the re-generation of Gunnersbury Park and its two mansions. The CARA Summer Barbeque or Big Lunch The summer social event is held on the last Sunday of the school term. We invite all local residents to join in, whether they are interested in joining CARA or not.  It is an open air event, with games for children and adults, and is open to everyone to come and meet neighbours and join in the fun. In 2012 the event will take place on Sunday 3rd June and will be a Jubilee Big Lunch Street Party in Hale Gardens jointly organised by CARA and St Martin’s Church to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The Annual Dinner The Annual Dinner is held on the third Thursday in November, starting at 8.00 p.m.
